Dear Birthmother,

We are so pleased to have this opportunity to introduce ourselves to you. We are Jason and Amy. We are so excited about adoption and the wonderful possibilities it provides to complete our family.

About Us

We have known each other for 12 years and have been married for the last nine. Although we experienced years of infertility, we learned to be patient and to cherish and appreciate what we have.

Almost two years ago our patience paid off, as we were surprised and thrilled to welcome our daughter Molly into our family. She is such a blessing and we can’t wait for her to be a big sister.

We have many things in common, and perhaps the biggest is our creativity—in our jobs and hobbies. Jason is an art director at an advertising agency while Amy is a freelance graphic designer. Amy loves to cook and sew. Jason has taken up woodworking, and loves baseball. He has played in a local men’s baseball league for almost 12 years.

We love to travel–especially to the mountains to snow-ski. We also enjoy going to the lake with friends and take an annual family beach trip.

About Amy by Jason

There is no doubt in my mind that Amy was meant to be a mom. She is caring, supportive, funny, creative, and talented. At the same time, she is strong, confident, and determined. She is always encouraging me to do things that I may have thought I was incapable of doing.

Amy built her own business so she could work from home and be there for Molly—a difficult goal that she has reached. She will be a great example for our children.

About Jason by Amy

I have the best partner a woman could ask for. Jason is incredibly supportive, strong, and extremely funny. He has a sensitive side and a deep love for animals.

Jason can’t resist running outside to play whiffle ball with our young neighbors, or grabbing his guitar to play music for Molly, to calm her down when she’s upset. He’s the most amazing daddy! I can’t wait for him to have another child. He has so much love to give.

Molly

Molly is very outgoing and social. She loves music, animals, and going places with mommy to visit people. We’re sure Molly would be a great big sister. She loves to blow kisses and give “zrbts” (raspberries).

Kitty and Lil (Our Pets)

Both Kitty and Lil are wonderful pets. Kitty loves to sit on Jason’s lap while he watches TV and has been so sweet to Molly. Lil is very affectionate and loves to chase squirrels and fetch sticks. She has become very protective of Molly and our family.

Our Home

We live in the South in one of the most desirable communities in our city. Although the city is large, our community has small town charm. The public school system is one of the best in the state and has high-ranking academic, art, music, and athletic programs.

Our home is a charming 1930’s three bedroom cottage. The majority of the neighborhood residents are young families and we are great friends with our neighbors. Our church is within walking distance from our house, the neighborhood elementary school is only one block away, and you can even hear the kids during school recess from our back yard. It is a safe and wonderful neighborhood.

Our Families

Both of us come from very large, wonderful, and supportive families that are thrilled about our decision to adopt. Amy has two sisters. Her younger sister lives here in town, and her older sister lives a few hours away with her three young children and husband. Amy’s parents also live in town and are a great help with Molly. Jason has one younger brother who lives a few hours away in the same city as Jason’s parents. While many relatives live in other cities around the country, we are still very close with everyone.
