Dear Birthmother,
We are Doug and Starla. We are so thankful that you are taking the time to learn more about us. We are a fun, active and happy couple. We can’t wait to become parents and we look forward to spending time with your child. About UsWe met six years ago when Starla moved here to teach. We both were drawn to each other instantly. We have been married know for over five years. There is no doubt in our minds that God put us together and that He has a plan for our lives.
We were both raised in Christian homes and are establishing our home with the same values and beliefs. For years we wondered how we would build our family, after having experienced infertility. We are so happy that God is opening the doors for us to adopt. We are looking forward to raising children in a happy Christian home with love, laughter, and singing.
We really enjoy doing things outside together and with friends and family. We like to go on picnics, take four-wheeler rides, camp, play tennis, canoe, and work in our yard. The last several years we have gone to Colorado on vacation and did some four-wheeling in the mountains and stayed in cabins for the nights.
About Starla,Starla is a wonderful wife and homemaker. I have always been impressed with her friendly outgoing personality and the ease in which she connects with others. Starla is a substitute teacher on occasion and teaches Sunday school. She enjoys babysitting, going shopping with her friends, and helping me on the farm. Starla is very organized and keeps a neat house and yard.
Starla loves children and children love her. Starla will be a stay-at-home mom and dreams of having a house full of children. I know she will be a wonderful mother. About Doug,My husband is a wonderful person. He is very dedicated to me and our home. I have always admired him for his friendly outgoing personality. He always looks on the bright side of life and is always there for me.
Doug enjoys making things with his hands. Doug has put engines in tractors, pickups, and makes lots of parts for the farm machinery. People are always showing up to ask Doug to make or fix something.
Doug is a hay farmer and is very dedicated to his farm. Doug is well organized and spends time trying to get things will run more smoothly.
Doug enjoys being with children and they in turn enjoy being with him. He is a great uncle and loves to play with, tease, and read to his nephews and nieces. I think Doug will be a wonderful father. I can not wait to see what he will make and build for your child. Our HomeWe live on a farm in Kansas. There are lots of things for children to do, play, and explore, including many trees to climb, a barn to explore, and two dogs and lots of cats to play with. Our house is set back from the farm a bit by a white fence and lots of trees. We look forward to playing with your child in the wide open spaces of our farm. Our FamiliesBoth of our families are supportive of our plans to adopt and are looking forward to having a new member in the family. His family lives within a five mile range from us. He has two other brothers. Starla’s family is scattered all over but her folks live only two hours away so we get to see them a lot. Starla has three sisters and one brother, and together we have four nephews and three nieces.
We love them all very much and when we get together, boy do we ever have fun! In ClosingWe are looking forward to the joys and excitement a child will add to our lives and home. We will provide a loving, Christian home for your child to grow in. We will raise your child to be a respectable citizen. We promise we will tell your child about you and about the love that brought us all together through adoption.
We hope to get to know you and if you’d like, we will share letters and photos, and discuss the possibility of visits with you after the adoption. Please call Lifetime Adoption to talk with us at 1-800-923-6784.
